Capturing the Beauty and Potential of Droplet Technology
On-chip Biotechnologies Co., Ltd. will host the DROPLET2026 Photo Contest on Friday, June 5, 2026, as part of DROPLET2026, a two-day event dedicated to droplet technology.
DROPLET2026 brings together researchers, engineers, and innovators working in droplet-based technologies. The event will feature invited lectures, a poster session, research matching opportunities, product experience booths, and a photo contest designed to highlight the visual appeal and scientific potential of droplet research. The broader DROPLET2026 program is introduced as an expanded two-day gathering for scientists and innovators in droplet technology.
The Photo Contest welcomes images related to droplet technology, including microscopy images of droplets, photos of microfluidic chips, and other visual works captured during research activities. Submissions may emphasize scientific significance, artistic beauty, or both.
Eligible applicants include researchers, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and members of universities, research institutes, and companies. Each application may include up to three works for exhibition.
Entries will be displayed at Akihabara UDX 6F room A, B, C from 13:00 to 17:00 on June 5. Participants may bring their works to the venue on the day of the event, or submit image data in advance if they wish to have the organizer print the works.
The contest will present two awards: the Audience Award, selected by votes from DROPLET2026 participants, and the Judges’ Award, selected by On-chip Biotechnologies. The Judges’ Award will be evaluated based on visual impact, originality, and storytelling.
From the vivid forms of droplets under the microscope to the intricate structures of microfluidic chips, the DROPLET2026 Photo Contest offers a unique opportunity to share the beauty, creativity, and scientific value found in droplet research.
