Upcoming Webinar: Exploring Diclofenac Biodegradation with Droplet Microfluidics

We are pleased to announce an upcoming webinar presented by Dr. Ayo Ogundero from the University of Glasgow.
Pharmaceutical pollutants such as diclofenac can persist in wastewater and present challenges for conventional treatment processes. While bacterial biodegradation offers a potential approach, identifying an effective microbial community — including its species composition and population size — remains a key challenge.
In this webinar, Dr. Ayo Ogundero will present research using droplet microfluidics to investigate bacterial communities with different compositions and densities. Using On-chip platforms, including the On-chip Droplet Selector, bacterial communities were encapsulated in water-in-oil droplets and screened to identify combinations showing significant diclofenac breakdown. The study explores how droplet-based screening could help identify effective microbial combinations and contribute to environmental engineering applications.
