At Viruses of Microbes 2026, On-chip Biotechnologies will present a platform enabling large-scale bacteriophage screening and new insights into interactions between phages.
Why phage-phage interactions matter
Phage therapy and phage cocktail development often assume that combining multiple phages increases efficacy. Yet interactions between phages can be synergistic, neutral, or even antagonistic.
Understanding these interactions remains challenging because conventional plaque assays and screening workflows limit the number of combinations that can be tested.
A high-throughput approach
At VoM 2026, Miu Hoshino from On-chip Biotechnologies will present:
“High-throughput bacteriophage screening and insights into phage-phage interactions”
The study explores how high-throughput screening can accelerate phage evaluation while uncovering previously overlooked interaction patterns among bacteriophages.
Meet us at VoM 2026
